"And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall
and stand in the breach before me for the land."

Ezekiel 22:30

"Men, do not hesitate to engage in the battle that is raging around you, the battle that is wounding our children and families, the battle that is distorting the dignity of both women and men. This battle is often hidden, but the battle is real. It is primarily spiritual, but it is progressively killing the remaining Christian ethos in our society and culture, and even in our own homes."

Into the Breach; An Apostolic Exhortation to Catholic Men"
Thomas J. Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix

Catholic men today have received a call to arms in the words of Bishop Olmsted to answer the attack that the Church is under these days. As the Bishop notes, in the past decade, devastating numbers of Catholics have left the faith, parish religious education and Catholic school attendance has dropped, so have the numbers of parents baptizing their children, and Catholic couples receiving the sacrament of marriage.  As Bishop Olmsted notes, "One of the key reasons that the Churchis faltering under the attacks of Satan is that many Catholic men have not been willing to 'step into the breach' - to fill this gap that lies open and vulnerable to further attack."

Though the call to be an active agent in the Church today may be clear, too often, as men, we can feel at a loss on how to answer that call, how to be a mature, active, Catholic man.  The Knights of Columbus offers a powerful way for men to answer the call and step into that gap that is opening ever wider in our society that allows so many to fall into the bondage of sin and despair.  The Knights offer men a critically needed fraternity of faith, a "band of brothers" to build up our families, our parishes, and our country.  Council 8659 of Auburn Hills steps into that breach.  Join us!

"Not Your Average Joe"
Joe Reali was a dynamic young man whose passion was evident on both the football field and in his Catholic faith. After his sudden death in 2015, thousands turned out for his wake and funeral, where they shared stories about Joe’s sacrificial love for others and his care for the downtrodden. Today, the legacy of this devout and fun-loving young man lives on in Long Island’s Knights of Columbus Joseph Mario Reali Council 16261.
